Am I ready for the Takeover?
The Green River Takeover is an at your own risk group paddle and is not a day of instruction or guiding. For the Takeover to be a success, it is essential that everyone participating already be comfortable on the section of river they are joining for. Due to the logistics of the day (timing, pace, extra large group), this is not the day to go bigger than usual, but rather the day to meet some awesome ladies to go big with on another day! Check out the “Am I Ready for the Takeover?” page for more specific info on this topic.
Where should I meet and when?
All Takeover paddlers (regardless of which section you are joining for) should meet at Fishtop (takeout of the Narrows). Please do your best to park as efficiently as possible so that we leave space for others to park as this parking lot is a multi-use area and can get full on a busy summer Saturday.
For more details on the timing of the day, check out the Event Logistics and Timeline page.
What should I bring?
In addition to all of your essential paddling gear (including a throw rope), all you need is a lunch, money (cash or check) for purchasing raffle prizes, and a smile!
What’s this raffle all about?
The raffle raises money for some great causes in the memory of Shannon Christy and Maria Noakes, two women who were very special to the paddling community. Each $10 donation to the funds gets you one raffle ticket and the chance to win a ton of awesome prizes including a custom Dagger kayak! The raffle will take place after the river paddle and you must be present to win. Check out the Raffle Details and Prizes page for all the details!
